Hello- Traveling in August with our children to Zurich and then Basel (visiting family). I am trying to narrow down what we should do with them. My husband remembers hiking as a child but I just want to keep it simple for them. We enjoy hikes but I don't want to exhaust them. Any feedback would be great.
Jan,
I haven't been to Zurich yet but here's some kid friendly suggestions for Basel.
- Kuntsmuseum Basel - if they are interested in art this is a fine museum.
- Speizeug Welten Museum (Toy World Museum) - it's in the alstadt and has a large collection of teddy bears, doll houses, puppets etc.
- Basel Zoo - it's the oldest and largest zoo in Switzerland.
- Basel Ferry behind the Münster - it's just a shot jaunt accoss the river but you get great views and it's interesting how they use the river's current to get across.
- Tinguely's Fountain - whimsical moving fountain in the alstadt.
- Basel Münster - beautiful with multi colored tile roof.
Your and your family will love Basel I hope you guys have a great trip!
