Traveling to Jungfrau

Advise needed. Arriving into Interlaken to have the day to go to Jungfrau. We (4 adults ) have a car, so I was wondering if it would be mor economical to drive to another city or take the train from Interlaken Ost. Last time I was there in June, due to weather the pass was closed. Should I buy my tickets in advance or wait to make sure the weather cooperates? Time wise how much is needed? I appreciate all feedback.

Which pass was closed?

Where are you arriving from?

Why don't you want to park at Lauterbrunnen?

Interlaken is about 15-20 minutes away by car from Lauterbrunnen, which is really where you'll want to start your day. If it's clear when you get to Lauterbrunnen, you'll see the mountain in all its glory from the valley floor. Then you can decide if you want to buy a train ticket to get closer. If so, park the car and take the train from Lauterbrunnen up the side of the valley to Murren for a hike, or Wengen or Kleine Scheidegg if you want to head to the Jungfraujoch (that'll take about 30 min-hour depending on which place you select). To go all the way to the top of the mountain, take the Jungfraujoch train from Kleine Scheidegg. I'd allow several hours for that portion of the trip, as it's about an hour each way and you'll want to spend time at the top.

Park you car in Lauterbrunnen - that is if you just really must have a car.
