Traveling on the non-panoramic trains: Am I right in this?

My husband and I have 8 day Swiss Travel Passes. The days we need to travel from Zermatt to Lauterbrunnen, and then from Lauterbrunnen to Lausanne we do not need reservations, correct? I can figure out the route we want to take on the regular trains and we can just get on and go?

And other than the special seats in the front car on the Golden Pass route, the same rule applies (meaning no need for reservations)?

Golden Pass doesn't require reservations, you're correct. On that note, you should have seen the look on the poor girl's face when we boarded the Golden Pass with our seat reservations and she had to vacate our seat. The train was full and no other seats. So be warned - it does happen.

Other Panoramic Trains like the Glacier Express DO require reservations.

Oh that's definitely something to consider. Do you think we'd need reservations at the very end of August on the Golden Pass?
