Traveling from Beaune to Lucerne

I purchased 2 8 day Swiss Travel passes for husband and self for September . I am now wanting to purchase also a TGV ticket from Beaune France to Lucerne Switzerland. Must I purchase a separate ticket from Beaune to Basel and then use the pass on a non pre purchased ticket from Basel to Lucerne? Seems I read some place there are multiple train stations in Basel and I need to find transportation between the two in this case. Please advise.

Trains from France will arrive at Basel SBB, the main station for trains to Luzern. If it is a TGV, it will arrive at the main platforms. if it is a regional train it will arrive at the old "France" platforms which will require a walk to the main platforms.

You can see if you can purchase the TGV ticket with a credit for the Swiss portion with the pass. TGV will not go direct to Luzern so you will have to change trains at Basel SBB.

See if you can book with the TER to Dijon, then change to the TGV Lyria direct to Basel SBB. Only one train change and you will arrive at the main platforms.

Thank you. How would I “see if I can use the pass in purchase of TGV portion”? I see no way to use this Swiss Travel Pass until I am physically within Switzerland in September on the dates for which it was purchased.

Just book to Basel SBB, then you can take any train to Luzern. There are at least 2 direct trains every hour and several with connections.
