Was just reading a travelogue and saw this portable Wi-Fi recommended travelerswifi.com. A portable device for Wi-Fi in Switzerland for up to 10 devices . About$10 a day. Has anyone used?
Sounds expensive, and it only works in Switzerland (+Liechtenstein ☺).
Just get a SIM card for your phone, it will cost a lot less. You can then use your phone as a mobile WiFi hotspot and it will also work in other European countries.
For example, for CHF 29 per month (and I am not recommending this company, this is purely an example): https://lebara.ch/en
P.S. when I go to the site you post it prices it at CHF 6.50 per day. If you are from the US, US$ 10 = ~CHF 10.
Why pay that much? Almost every hotel has free WiFi.
And many trains have free WiFi, and most cafés and restaurants. Even some trams in Basel have WiFi.
I used to think "I need a phone." But that was not correct. I need email, not a phone. And every cafe, every hotel has free wifi. I use those, and it's all good. Plus when I email, it's a record to refer back to later.
Like Paul, “I use my phone for email.” I have found that most of my contacts in Europe & home are now using WhatsApp for texting. So far having wifi in the hotels, BnB’s, and apartments are all I need.
