I will be part of a group tour that will end on Saturday, June 24. Our transfer from Lucerne will depart at 6:00 AM and is scheduled to arrive at the Zurich airport at 7:30 AM. My Lufthansa flight from Zurich to Frankfurt departs at 9:35 AM, with a connecting flight to the U.S. leaving at 1:25 PM. The itinerary provided to the group states that our flights out of Zurich should not depart prior to 10:15. Is there any reason to be concerned about a flight that leaves 40 minutes prior to the time suggested by the tour company? One question is whether the 90 minutes allotted to the bus trip from Lucerne to Zurich is fairly accurate. If it is, the second concern is whether there is any problem with arriving at the airport only 2 hours and 5 minutes ahead of flight departure, as I am unfamiliar with Zurich's airport. Thanks!

I would say that 90 minutes from Lucerne to Zurich is pretty accurate. We have driven it before and it took about 1 hour. The Zurich airport is easy to get around. I don't think you'll have any issues.

I just looked and driving time is indicated at less than one hour. Zurich is a very efficient airport. As long as you are through security one hour before your flight departs, you'll have no problem.

You could skip their bus transfer and take the train. Depart Luzern at 6:10 am and arrive inside the Zurich airport at 7:15 am.

Aly and LacLeman, thank you so much for the reassurance you've provided on travel time to the Zurich airport and what I can expect once I get there. That information was exactly what I was looking for. Lola, thank you for an alternative that I hadn't even considered - although my wife and I have taken plenty of trains in Europe on previous trips where we've traveled on our own. For less than $33, taking the train directly to the airport may be the best answer. I have a call in to the travel company and will see what they have to say. You have all been very helpful.
