We’ll fly into Zurich and need to get to Lucerne the same day. Is there a train we can catch close/at the airport? Thanks for any help!

There is a train station in the Zurich airport. It's super easy, a 1+ hour train ride. And the train station in Lucerne is in the center of town. Enjoy!

The train station is in the terminal building. Just follow the signs—-I believe you have to pass through the shopping area. You must buy a ticket before you board——you cannot buy it on the train, and you will be fined if you do not have one. There are ticket machines, or you can go to the window and buy from the agent. If you are traveling this year, you will have to change trains at the Zurich Man Station. You will likely com in to that station on Platform32 or 33 on a lower level, and will have to go up a level or two to reach the platforms for the Luzern train—-look on the lightboard for the actual track number. I is usually a low number like 5 or 9. Signs in the station will direct you to the right area.
