Hi, I am planning a longer trip that goes across parts of Europe, however I wanted to get details on the best way to get from Paris to Interlaken. I also am planning to purchase the berner oberland regional pass for my days in Switzerland, will this help me reduce the overall cost of this trip. From what I am reading, I would need to take a TGV from Paris to Basel, then take local trains to Interlaken, is that correct? and can I use the above pass to get from Basel to Interlaken.
There is also the Swiss Travel pass you could price out. We used the STP for transportation between Swiss cities and it also included local transportation and some excursions and attractions.
Thanks, I was aware but the berner oberland regional pass seem to cover the areas I am visiting in Switzerland like Grindelward and Wengen
I have no idea which pass is better, but the Swiss travel pass does cover BO and would cover Basel to Interlaken.
The Berner Oberland pass is valid from Bern. So you would need to buy a ticket Paris - Bern in addition.
But using the BO pass on your arrival date may not be the best option. You can also book a ticket Paris - Interlaken (or Paris to wherever it is you are staying) and only use the BO pass for those days you are actually exploring.
