We're traveling from Gruyères to Lauterbrunnen. The train connections aren't great. It takes 3 transfers and 3+ hours. We're considering hiring a taxi/van service (there are four of us plus luggage).
Do people have suggestions for a reputable or affordable company? We also saw on line Gettransfer.com Does anyone have any experience with this company?
It takes three hours via Bern. However you could also travel via the Golden Pass route, a railway people go out of their way for to travel on.
On www.sbb.ch enter "Zweisimmen" as a via. You will then only have a change in Montbovon and Interlaken Ost, and travel on the Golden Pass Express. Reservations are not needed on that train, but can be obtained if you wish on www.gpx.ch
When it comes to private transfers "affordable" is relative. It is not a service that Swiss (who aren't exactly poor) would use. So there are not a lot of companies offering this, and their target is people who don't care how much it costs.
that's the second time in a week that this Dubai based booking site has been mentioned. I don't think it had any reports then.
The train ride can be done in 2 transfers if you travel via Montbovon and use the a direct GoldenPass express to Interlaken Ost. But where are you staying in Gruyères? If you need a taxi to the station you could just extend that the extra 8 miles to Montbovon station to make it easier.
