Travel from Geneva airport till Interlaken region

Hi All,

I need some guidance on how to plan my travel from Geneva airport till my hotel on the night when i am landing in Geneva.
Basically the flight lands in Geneva at 20:45.I have booked 3 options for stay
1) Interlaken (RiverLodge)
2) Lauterbrunnen (BaseCafe)
3) Wengen (B&B Pasta&More)
Will be deciding on one based on the ease of travel

How can i reach these places from Geneva. Will the transportation basically the train service available at this time of day?Or should i stay in Geneva for night (but i would really like to reach my stay to save on the time the next day)

Please share your opinion on the options which i can take

Thansk in advance !!

Suggest you ask each of your lodging choices what they recommend as options to reach their location at the time you will be arriving.

I have not done extensive research, but it appears it is a 3h 30m trip by train during 'regular' service hours, but at your late arrival time it appears it is more than an 8 hr trip.

There may be options I did not find, but unless the lodgings can provide insight for a solution, it appears a night in Geneva may be unavoidable

Is it possible to get a flight that arrives earlier in the day?

Good luck

You may be able - you don't quote a date or even a month so I just picked a random one - to get as far as Interlaken by 1 in the morning but the train towards Lauterbrunnen and beyond will have finished hours before. You can only get the last train from Geneva airport to Lauterbrunnen if you are out of the airport in less than 50 minutes from touchdown.

Where will you be coming from? Will you have any luggage? What will you do if you count on making that last train and there is any delay on your flight or you don't clear the airport as quickly as you hope and miss the train? Taking the last train assumes that you can make a 5 minute connection in Lausanne from platform 6 to platform 1 with all your stuff. It also assumes that you can change in Bern to another train in 12 minutes. If you go to sleep on the train you may miss these connections, or if you don't walk quickly enough. Are you confident in that?

I know absolutely nothing about any of the places to stay you mention.

Possibly the Interlaken one but how far is it from the station? Is that Interlaken Ost or Interlaken West?

I suppose you could take an expensive taxi as far as Lauterbrunnen. You have no hope of getting to Wengen (must take a train from Lauterbrunnen) until the next day.

How late can you check in at the place you mention in Interlaken?

I have just looked at the RiverLodge hostel in Interlaken. It says that their reception closes at 18:00, earlier in the low season. If you arrive at Interlaken at gone 1 am how will you get in?

There's a site I always use. It's called Rome2Rio. It works for me.
