Travel Chamonix to Geneva airport

On 7 June, we two will be in Chamonix and travel to Geneva for a 10:30 flight to CDG.

In checking, the only public transportation arriving before our flight is a bus that leaves Chamonix at 7:15 and arrives at the airport at 9:25. Seems like it is cutting things pretty close?? The bus will cost around €50. A private car would be €210.

What does conventional wisdom suggest?

The conventional wisdom would be to stay in Geneva the night before, or at least much closer. For these kinds of things, I always say to consider the repercussions. Will you be okay financially and employment-wise, etc. if you miss a flight and are delayed? If it would just be an unpleasant memory, then take the risk.
I would find a private car equally stressful, but I am the most opposite of a morning person that you will encounter.

Is Paris your destination? Then why not just travel by train from Chamonix to Paris?

If you leave at 5:56 am, there is a bus to St Gervais-les-Bains connecting to a TER to Bellegarde connecting to a TGV to Paris, arriving at Paris Gare de Lyon at 11:42, about the same time your flight from Geneva will be landing at CDG and you still have to collect your bags and get into Paris.

If you are stuck with the flight, you can take the same departure above, but get off the TER at Annemasse and change to train to Geneva Cornevin, then a train to the airport, arriving at 8:41, a comfortable arrival time for your flight. Cost is 37.60 CHF (or equivalent in EUR) per person.

Flights and hotels are paid for and non refundable. Omio now shows a Swistours bus leaving Chamonix, Av. de Courmayeur (Gare routière Sud) at 8:00 arriving at 9:18.

How large is the Geneva Airport? Is it usually crowded?

It is a Friday. Geneva airport is not that big. These days, I would like a better cushion.
