Travel by train from Venice to Interlaken

Dear All,

I am planning to buy a swiss pass and i would like to know how i can use it for my venice to interlaken trip. Also i would like to know, which are the trains where there is discounted price due to the swiss pass and which are the trains which are absolutely free to travel with the swiss pass.

Your advise would be really helpful.

Thank you.

Regards
Smijoe

You may be able to find a 9 euro fare with an advance purchase nonrefundable ticket from Venice to Milan. they go on sale 120 in advance. From Milan, take a regional train to Domodossola for 10.50 euro. From Domodossola, your travel into and anywhere in Switzerland will be free. The exception is mountain railways and cable cars, like the Jungfruajoch, where the travel to Wengen is free, then a 25% discount for the train to the top. The Schilthorn cable car is free to Muerren, then 50% discount up to Piz Gloria.

Ditto Sam except for one detail. With a Swiss pass or card, the discount from Wengen to the Jungfraujoch is 50%. It's 25% with a Eurail pass.

I have the exact same itinerary!

Quick Question: Assuming I buy my Swiss Half Fare Card from home country, can I get it validated in Venice Train Station?

Actually Larry, I think Sam is correct. The Swiss Pass is only good for a 25% discount above Wengen. The Half Fare Card, on the other hand, will give you a 50% discount above Wengen.

Tim and Sam, I stand corrected. 25% discount on the Swiss Pass. I checked the validity map. The Swiss Card gets a 50% discount. We've always had the 1/2 fare card and it too is a 50% discount.
