We want to take the scenic train ride between Interlaken and Luzern which is part of the Golden Pass route. We would like to take a regular train and not the branded Golden Pass train. Do all the trains leaving Interlaken OST follow the same route through the Brunig Pass. We would love to see all this beautiful scenery on our way to Luzern. I have taken many scenic rail journeys in Switzerland but this 2 hours journey which I took by accident in 1994 was one of the most spectacular and didn't require a lot of time.
Buy the direct ticket Interlaken OST to Luzern it goes through the Brunig Pass.
Some tickets to Luzern are sold to require a change in Bern that is not the one you want.
None of the trains between Interlaken Ost are "branded" Golden Pass. Those are all on the western end between Montreux and Zweisimmen. All the trains between Interlaken Ost and Luzern have panorama type cars and a bistro car.

Thanks for your info. Is it cheaper to buy a ticket ahead for this route or buy it when we are in Interlaken?
Price is always the same unless you commit to nonrefundable "SuperSaver" tickets which go on sale beginning 30 days before your travel date.
And if you will be spending time in Switzerland, you might be getting a Swiss Travel Pass, in which case it would be covered, or a Half Fare Card, in which case your tickets are half off.
Some of the older trains which connect in Interlaken Ost as a "through" train Golden Pass which can be run are painted in Golden Pass colours. I like the newer vehicles just as much, and the AC is excellent.
