We are visiting Switzerland the last week in August this year. Which train route is best, most scenic to take from Geneva to Montreux? Any suggestions for Ferry excursions on Lake Geneva? Any must see suggestions in Geneva or Montreux?

The direct train line runs right along the lake (1 hour), so that you don't need any detour to find a scenic ride. Or you can take a ferry down the lake, which takes longer, so you might prefer to use it for a shorter distance: http://www.cgn.ch/en-gb/accueil.aspx.
