Train Travel from Zurich Airport to Como, Italy

We're flying from the west coast into Zurich on a Friday morning in early October. I believe Zurich to Como is a popular scenic route. Do I need to reserve and pay for my train ticket in advance? I'm concerned the flight will be delayed. Will they allow us to take a later train if we are a few hours late?

Since there is really no price advantage to buying in advance, just wait until you arrive at Zurich airport and go to the airport train station and buy the ticket there. The direct EC trains from Zurich Hbf are only a couple of times a day, 11:32 am and 5:32 pm and have reservation requirements. Trains in between those times take at least one more connection and don't need reservations.

Edit - Turns out, there are nonrefundable Super Saver tickets available on the EC trains at a discount, but they are only good on the train stated of the ticket. Friday I'm looking at (7th), they are not offering these on the morning trains, only late afternoon and evening EC trains.
