Train travel from Ilanz to Morel / Morel to Bern: Glacier Express?

We will be travelling from Vella (via Ilanz) to Riederalp (via Morel), then Morel to Bern a few days later. We think we would like to take the Glacier Express at least from Ilanz to Morel, is that possible for that shorter leg? I only read about the Glacier Express from Chur to Brig, etc. Can we get on and off at a different place, or should we just be taking the regular train for these? Or is it the same train? We plan to have a half fare card and a Family Card for our three kids.

You may be able to take the Glacier Express, but it does not stop at Ilanz or Moerel. You could take a regional train from Ilanz to Disentis-Muster and board it there, then continue to Fiesch and get off there, then continue on to Moerel on another regional train. Every passenger (including children) on the Glacier Express must pay the reservation fee of, if I remember right, 33 CHF until Oct 22 when it goes down to 13 CHF, which is not discounted by the Half Fare Card. Boarding at Disentis-Muster and exiting at Fiesch is nonstandard and you may need to contact them from the contact page at: [email protected]

Regional trains ply the same tracks without panorama cars. Ilanz to Disentis-Muster, change train to Andermatt, change train to Moerel.
