We are flying into Zurich for a 2 week stay. We plan to take the train directly to Lucerne and stay there for a day or two. If the weather is good, we plan to then go to Zermatt. If it is very cloudy, we will go east towards Berner Oberland.
What would be the best way to get to Zermatt? Most trains seem to go through Bern. Any suggestions welcome.
We are also planning to visit Munich and Salzburg. We fly into and out of Zurich.

Routes may seem circuitous, but thats because the mountains are in the way. Just note that in the mountains, weather can change rapidly, so that if the morning is clear, it could be cloudy by the time you get there. Or it could be cloudy down below, and sunny on top. Most of the mountaintop places you want to go have live webcam feeds, so you can see in real time.
