I am on the sbb.ch website trying to purchase train tickets (using the half fare drop down link since we purchased the half fare travel cards) and each time I get through all the steps, enter my payment information, only to receive a payment failed response. I contacted the credit card company and there is nothing wrong with the card. Even tried a different card. I am trying to buy tickets for September 17, wondering if that might be the issue? Can you buy tickets more than 30 days ahead? Can anyone shed some light on this? I appreciate any information. Thank you

SBB uses 3-D secure credit card clearing. If you have American Express, that should work. Otherwise you have to register with one of the services like MasterPass or Visa Checkout. When you initiate a transaction they come back and you enter your PIN for the card, then proceed.
