Train Tickets

Hello,
We will be travelling from Paris to Zurich.
I looked up at Rail Europe website and then SBB website also shows tickets from Paris to Zurich.
Is there a specific official website where I should book tickets from?
Both websites have different prices. Is it okay if I book through SBB website if it is cheaper?
Another question on SBB website, Adults have the Swiss Half Fare Card, and I understand that Kids 6-16 get a free Swiss Family Card so they travel free of charge. When I try to enter the Passenger details and look for Swiss Family Card option for kid I cannot find anything. Which option should I select so that he gets the required discount with the Swiss Family Card.

Thank you!!

Don't know about the French part, but I'll add a note about buying. Last month I bought 2 Swiss Travel Passes. I wanted to buy from the source, SBB. I was unable to buy from SBB due to their payment processor not accepting any of my credit cards. Sometimes the verification failed. Probably an issue at my end. Anyway, I finally bought them through Rail Europe. It cost 5.7% more but I had to.

At the SBB site, they will ask for your discounts. Since children under 16 travel fee with you in Switzerland with the Family Card, you could enter their discounts as "GA card" and they will only be charged for the French portion of the journey.

The train from Paris to Zurich is operated by SNCF till Basel, and by SBB from Basel to Zürich. You can buy tickets from either, for from, an agent. But I would suggest you buy from SBB, unless they refuse your CC.

The SBB booking system unfortunately does not mention the STS products. So you need to pick the domestic equivalent. So pick "Half Fare Travel Card" for the adults, and "Junior Card" for the kids.

Note: Are you actually going to Zurich, or somewhere else? Zurich is not the most interesting part of Switzerland, and there is often no need to pass through Zurich when travelling from Paris to other parts of Switzerland. You can book Paris- on the SBB site, and they will find the best route for you.

Thank you all for responses.

So I will select "Junior travelCard" for kid under 16 years of age. I just want to be sure that later when they check tickets and I do not have Junior travel Card instead I have a Swiss Family Card and they refuse or charge fines.

@WengenK We have a stay in Zurich for a day and then we move to Wengen for next 9 days.
