Train ticket or reservation needed from Domodossola?

We will be traveling from Milan to Lauterbrennen. We will have already purchased Swill Travel Pass starting on that date of travel. We will purchase train ticket from Milan to Domodossola - but from there to Lauterbrennen do we just get on any train since we will have a Swiss Travel Pass? Is a ticket required to get on or just show our Swiss travel Pass?

If you have a Swiss Travel Pass in your hand, that is your ticket, nothing more required. There are no reservations required on Swiss trains. When the Swiss ticket inspector comes around, just show the Pass, and your passport as ID if requested.

In many cases the trains do not terminate at Domodossola, they continue through to Swiss destinations. So you don't need to get on a train, you are already on one. Just stay seated until the train gets to where you need to change, Brig or Spiez.

The best place to get a Swiss Pass is on the SBB website. You will get a "print-at-home" ticket for the same price as you would pay buying it at a station. You specify the dates you want when you buy. It is a fixed price, no price change until at least December, and no discounts for advance purchase.

Website page: https://www.sbb.ch/en/leisure-holidays/travel-in-switzerland/international-guests/swiss-travel-pass.html

Swiss Travel Pass 3 days, 2nd class, CHF 225
Swiss Travel Pass 4 days, 2nd class, CHF 270
Swiss Travel Pass 8 days, 2nd class, CHF 398
Swiss Travel Pass 15 days, 2nd class, CHF 485

If you buy on the SBB website you credit card will be charged in Swiss Franks with the transaction booked in Switzerland. Make sure your bank does not block overseas transactions.
Prices on other websites which quote in other currencies may fluctuate because the exchange rate changes.

If you want to buy a ticket from Milan to Domodossola, go to the Italian Railways site: http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en
This ticket will have a big discount for buying early.
