We have a Swiss and Italian flexi rail pass. Is there an interesting place to stop between Neuchatel and Milan? We have to be in Milan by around 2 pm on a Tuesday in June. So, we could take a full day and stay in Milan for the night, or could stay in a town in between or near border if we can find something reasonable for an adult and 2 kids. Would rather not arrive until around 2 as I would rather not spend time in Milan. We will have our backpacks. Do train stations have bag storage? We prefer smaller towns, and are equipped to hike. I know there are SO many options, it is a bit overwhelming. Have already seen Montreux area. Thanks!!

If you use the train departure that I identified on your reservation question, then you don't arrive to Milan until 15:30.
