Train station in Brig- anyone familiar?

Are there 2 stations in Brig?- we are coming from Kandersteg to Brig to catch the Glacier Express and the SBB schedule says we walk for 7 min after arriving.

They are really next to each other. One is the mainline standard gauge tracks handling the trains going to Italy and Geneva and Basel, and the other is for the narrow gauge tracks for the trains to Zermatt and up the Rhone valley to the Furka Pass. This the route of the Glacier Express train.

There are several places in Switzerland where the main station and its building services the standard gauge tracks, while narrow gauge tracks are placed in the station square, in front of the building. Brig, Göschenen, Chur are the first examples coming to my mind.

Looking at tomorrow's schedule, the Glacier Express trains. (as well as the regional trains heading east toward Andermatt) use Track 11, which is outside. The trains from Kandersteg come in on 8 or 9. You will need to descend and use the tunnel to cross under all the tracks, then come into the station and go outside. We have done it several times---it doesn't really take 7 minutes to do the walk, more like 3-4.

Yes, the actual transfer time is 54 minutes. The 7 minutes is just a "standard" walking time from the far end of the most remote track to the cross-over tunnel down the stairs, then to the inside of the station, across the street, allowing for traffic, then a right turn to the Glacier Express platform.

A bit tight for time for you, there is also a Manora a block or so away from the station.
