Train from Zurich to Stein am Rhein

I feel like I must be doing something wrong. On the last day of a long tour of Europe we planned on taking a day trip from Zurich to Stein am Rhein. The date is Sunday Sept 8th. When I plug this into what I think is the official site for booking I am getting CHF 111.20 for a round trip. I expected a price of less than half that based on my experience booking day trips in other countries with similar lengths. Other than the train to/from the airport to the central station we won't need the train service so a pass makes no sense for us.

This is where I am getting the pricing from. https://www.sbb.ch/en/

Am I missing something or is that the price?

Thanks in advance. We have a great trip planned and a ton of info came from Rick and the contributors in the forums!

That is the correct SBB website.
Zürich HB to Stein am Rhein, 2nd class
It is showing CHF 27.80 single, or if you are coming back as well, CHF 55.60. Did you perhaps look up the price for 2 people?
That price is for a "Z-Pass OSTWIND-ZVV Day Pass All Zones" (1 day pass for the Zürich area).

Valid for unlimited travel on all public transportation services within the applicable zones during the period of validity.
Period of validity: 1 calendar day until 05:00 a.m. the following day.

Ys, Swiss trains are more expensive than other countries.

I am sure Chris has good advice on the train tickets. It will be well worth the day trip out--I am not a fan of Zurich. When you get off the train you are in Germany and you cross a bridge over the Rhine. Don't miss the farmhouse museum in the center of town. Have a wonderful trip!
