Anyone have any experience or suggestions. Beauty, ease, stop overs?

The direct train is an EC train every 2 hours. Beauty-nothing special, ease-very, stopovers-maybe Lindau.

I do it every year in reverse to get to Mürren. We buy our ticket ahead of time through Bahn.de to choose our reserved seats in first class. We never buy train tickets ahead of time but for that route first class with choosing your seat is typically half the price of 2nd class bought last minute, so we always buy a few months out since we know our fixed train time based on where we have to end up in the mountains. The views are nothing to write home about and no use doing stops, just get the high speed direct and spend your extra time wherever you’re going.
My only other note is that the Munich train station is disgusting & the construction/crowds outside the station are crazy, so plan to get in and out of there are fast as possible.
