I need help. I have been reviewing the trains and am confused. My husband and I are travelling from Geneva to Venice and would prefer train to flying. What is the best way to take the train from Geneva to Switzerland.

Karen, What are you confused about? What do you mean by "What is the best way to take the train", are you asking what you have to do at the station?
If you want to know times and prices, go to https://www.sbb.ch/en/ (the official Swiss railways website).
Enter from: Genève to: Venezia S. Lucia (the main station on the islands), and a date and time, and click on "Search".
This, like all the railway websitres, will always find the quickest route.
I picked a random date in June, and it found a number of options, including:
Genève - Venezia S. Lucia
Via Brig - Brig - Milano Centrale - Milano Centrale
