Thank you for all the great advice, my question is if this is the most scenic route from Como to Luzern?
Along this route what stops would be the best to get off for a photo or lunch within walking distance of the train station?

One thing you might do is get off at Goechenen and take the short train ride (12 minutes) up to Andermatt and take some pictures there and have lunch. The Treno Gottardo that is direct to Luzern goes every 2 hours, so ideally, that is how much time you have. The next train after that will require a change at Arth-Goldau to get to Luzern, or you could top somewhere else like Fluelen for another hour and get the next direct train to Luzern. The ticket from Como to Luzern is good all day for stop over as long as you get to Luzern by the end of the day.
The train from Goechenen to Andermatt is 8.60 CHF each way.
