Trail guide recommendation?

Hello,
At the end of May, we're going to be in Wengen for four nights, Interlaken for two and Kandersteg for two, and we plan on spending most of that time hiking. Can anyone recommend a good guidebook for hiking trails? Thank you for your advice.

I have several hiking books that cover the Berner Oberland, but it turns out the free maps and guides at the local Tourist Information office ( especially Kandersteg) are more useful.

For Kandersteg, this website is a good resource:

I recommend hikes 6, 7, and 9, all of which start at Oeschinensee ( haven’t done 8, at least as far as I recall). Take the gondola up to the lake, rather than hiking there from town. That way you will get more time with the beautiful scenery around and above the lake itself.

Steve,
As Lola stated, free maps and guides are readily available for the areas you are interested in hiking. And once you are on the trails, signage is excellent.
However, your original question asked for a "good guidebook for hiking trails." So, if you want a kindle book, with trails readily available on your phone or iPad, the following is available on Amazon:

https://smile.amazon.com/Walking-Switzerlands-Berner-Oberland-Jungfrau-ebook/dp/B09S8RQCSL/ref=sr_1_1?crid=ELKRNOLMHTW1&keywords=walking+in+the+berner+oberland&qid=1646334522&s=digital-text&sprefix=walking+in+the+berner+oberland%2Cdigital-text%2C145&sr=1-1

It is a brand new book. The authors are Forum members who spent last summer in the area and regularly post here.

That’s Laurel’s new book! I did not realize it was out already.

I like that you linked to AmazonSmile, Carol.

Hey Lola, Yes, we use AmazonSmile...supporting our local high school, where our grandson teaches and our granddaughter attends.
