Hi! My family and I will be finishing our trip in Switzerland. We fly out of Zürich. Since we’re a large group (4 adults, 3 kids) finding lodging is tricky in the city.
Are there any other towns where we could stay that are close to airport and the city? Thanks! We are looking to rent an apartment or home.

Zug is a good town.
I see you don't want a hotel. Too bad because the Holiday Inn Express at Affoltern am Albis is a good one and at an S-Bahn station with frequent trains.

Lucerne is only about an hour from Zurich Airport by train. Trains run roughly every half hour during the day. I’m not sure about apartment or home rentals.

- I second Luzern (local spelling). 70 minutes to Zürich airport by train, and a lovely lakeside town to wander around.
- Depending where you are coming from in Switzerland, Bern may be an option. Nice old town. Also 70 mins. to Zürich airport by train.
- And if coming from the north, Konstanz. Also a lake town. In Germany, but on the border, and it does have direct trains to Zürich airport taking 65 minutes.

Finding accommodation for 7 people other than in a hotel would be difficult.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I am open to hotels, and will look into it. It’s just that we have to book 2 rooms.

We landed in Zurich and stayed 2 nights in Luzern hotel Monopol. Then we continued by train to Florence via Milan. Luzerne is a beautiful town in a picturesque settings. Hotel Monopol is excellently located. Close to train station, waterfront and old town.
