I was hoping to find a Rick Steves walking tour of the Mount Blanc circuit, so that I didn’t have to book the lodging on my own. Since I’m just starting research am I way too late to get lodging for a trip this year in July, August or September? Would love some advice from those who’ve done the circuit before. Thanks in advance for your help!

Rick Steves doesn't do a tour of the Mont Blanc.
The top refugios will be booked by now. Typically you book in the fall for the following summer when they open their bookings in October. You could look into services like Bookatrekking to see if they can help you. Or google "Mont Blanc booking service" and try all the different companies that come up.
Otherwise your best option is to go through the official list and contact the ones you want to see if you can find anything.

Another option is to do a hut to hut hike that is less "known" - there are tons of great options in Austria and Switzerland that you could still likely find availability at if you got on it quickly.

I did the Tour du Mont Blanc last year in July....it was awesome! I went through Macs Adventures and would definitely recommend. I usually plan out my vacations, however, for this trip...I was glad to have a company take care of the logistics for me...they also have a great app! I did the "Highlights of the Tour du Mont Blanc, in Comfort" (only hotels for me!). I also recommend that you train...it is a very challenging trail. Have fun!
