Top of Europe Pass discontinued

If anyone was planning on getting the Top of Europe Pass, you’ll have to come up with a Plan B as the Pass will not be offered this summer.

Scroll down to “Does the top of Europe pass still exist?”

Tickets are so expensive for the Jungfraujoch—CHF 238 – CHF 107—depending on if you have a Pass/Discount Card or not.

This video mentions some cheaper, and in my opinion, better options:

Mannlichen is a favorite of mine. Just keep in mind the cable car up to Mannlichen does not start operating until May 27 and the walk down to kleine scheidegg typically does not open until mid-June.

That is correct but the Jungfrau travel pass is now a bit cheaper for the three day option and it offers Jungfraujoch for more of a discount than before. It is a total bummer that top of europe pass is no more! I still plan on buying the swiss travel pass because convenience at this stage of life means more than price and then I will buy junfrau travel pass for my three days in the region depending on weather.

The "Top of Europe Pass" was a temporary promotion. The season pass version of it was even called "Corona Pass". This was just part of the Jungfrau Railways' recovery strategy.

Note that according to the CEO of the JB the Half Fare Card should be abolished and all public transit prices just halved for everyone. JB needs about 100,- per passenger to be profitable, and since most Swiss have the HFC they need to price the normal ticket at twice that...

Wow. So Urs Kessler (CEO Jungfrau Railway) and Christoph Egger (CEO Shilthorn) have burried the hatchett then.

For people like me this is good new, as I always buy a season pass. A ski pass in winter, and the summer pass in summer.

Yes, we were excited to find that they were bringing it back this year. We spend our summers in Murren so having the unlimited pass and having Schilthorn added to it was an unexpected surprise. Hoping it's a long term addition for people like us who are there for an extended time. We have family coming to visit us for 2 weeks this summer and I've calculated that I think even for 2 weeks it ends up being a good deal. We combine it with the half fare card to get 100 chf off the pass as well as 1/2 off trips outside the validity zone.
