Hi, I'm waiting on my Swiss railway tickets to come in the mail. They are in TNT transit for last 10 days as there's a back log/delay at hub in Basel Switzerland. Has anyone heard what the hold up is? Should I continue waiting? Gonna need my tix by early August....
Can they send them by email so you can just print at home or at the public library?
Can they send you a code so you can just print them at the station?
Swiss railways doesn't do print at the station tickets.
The Swiss don't do reservations, and in most cases prices are fixed, so there is little advantage in buying in advance.
The discount tickets they do do, the "Sparpreis" tickets, are available as print-at-home. Passes are also available as print-at-home.
Normally you just buy tickets at the station.
TNT is usually very fast. this sounds very suspicious. Carol, where are you? Why are the tickets coming all the way from Switzerland? Who did you buy these tickets from?
STC Swiss Travel Center. They use this courier to mail swiss flex tix. I suspect they have been preprinted on certain type of paper.
TNT is a unit of FedEx. It was severely impacted by the global viral cyberattack at the end of June. I would have thought that it would have gotten past that issue by now but perhaps there are continuing delays.
Thank you. Will wait this out until I hear back from swiss railway. 😕
