We will be flying into Zurich late at night and staying 1 night in Zurich. We plan to go to Interlaken the next day. Should we spend a little time in Zurich, like walk around the town and have breakfast and then catch a train to Interlaken, or should we just get on the first train to Interlaken and spend most of the day there. We do have the next two days in Interlaken also. Just didn't know if we should spend any time in Zurich.
We will be traveling mid June.
The trains run so frequently, you can make that decision when you wake up in the morning.
Really? I don't need to book a train from Zurich to Interlaken ahead of time?
As Chris F says, its a turn up and go system. The whole country works like your local bus system. Stand at the bus stop and when the bus comes, get on. OK, you do need to buy a ticket first. These days more and more people are using their smart phones to do this, using the SBB app.
WOW! Thanks.
And if you’re going to see the spectacular Swiss Alps then continue on PAST Interlaken into the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
Yes, we will be staying in Murren for a couple of nights.
