Time for Trummelbach Falls?

We need to be at the Lauterbrunnen train station at 11am in the morning to depart our wonderful stay in the Jungfrau. But, we would like to see Trummelbach Falls before we leave.

Does anyone know how long it is to get to Trummelbach Falls from Lauterbrunnen? And how long we need to properly walk through the falls?

If memory serves it is about a 10 minute bus ride. You can zip through in 60-90 minutes. Lot of stairs as I remember. I am not sure if it is open year round. You may not have time to do it the morning before you leave if that is your plan.

You can do Trummelbache as quickly as you want. You must take the funicular to the top but then you just walk down at your leisure. You can skip part of it if you want so you can make it fairly quick.

The Trümmelbach Glacier Waterfalls are open from 9 am to 5 pm daily from the beginning of April to the beginning of November and from 8:30 am to 6 pm in July and August.

We visited there a few weeks ago. No credit cards - cash only. The elevator takes you up to about level six or seven. From there you can walk up higher or you can just walk down. The walk down takes 10-15 minutes plus pauses to look at the falls. You might need to wait for the elevator - when we were there the operator first took a ten minute break, then waited a few more minutes for additional passengers. If catching an 11:00 train and relying on the bus to get you back to the station, I think the timing might be a bit tight.

I agree. Remember that the bus between the Falls and the Lauterbrunnen train station only runs twice an hour, and you have to walk 5-10 minutes from the exit of the Falls to the bus stop. All that time (waiting for an elevator, taking the elevator, walking down through the Falls to see them, walking from the Falls exit to the bus stop, waiting for the bus, the bus ride itself) adds up. Even if you make it, you'll probably spend much of your Falls visit looking at your watch and worrying about your train, rather than enjoying the Falls.

I'd just walk around the area near your hotel and enjoy your last views - that's what I've done when on the mornings of my two departures from the Berner Oberland, and I haven't regretted it!

Thank you all. We were able to get a break and don’t have to catch the train until noon. So, looks like we can see the falls before we leave. Does anyone know what times each hour the bus leaves Lauterbrunnen?
