Tickets or Swiss Pass - Need help.

I'm planning a 5 day trip solo trip to Switzerland in mid August. I'm trying to find the most affordable way of travelling in Switzerland. I will be staying in Berne, and my itinerary is the following, from day 3 and on, locations will be interchangeable depending on weather:

Day 1 - Zurich airport to Berne

Day 2 - Head to Zermatt

Day x - Head to Lucerne via Interlaken

Day x - Head to Geneva via Montreux and Lavaux OR Zurich and Appenzell

Day x - Head to Adelboden or Thun or elsewhere in Bernese Oberland

Day 6 - Berne to Zurich airport

Not counting Day 1 (I'll be getting a lift from the airport to Berne) I checked the website over and over trying to find the most affordable way to travel. After some calculations it seems that the 4 day travel pass and a ticket to Zurich airport would be the best option. Based on my itinerary any other recommendations would be of help. Thank you!

Hi there,

In general some kind of a pass is worth while, so I'd say you're on the right track.

The lift for the airport to Berne... any chance the driver is a Swiss resident? If so there are cheaper tickets they could buy for you.

Jim.

I'll be touring on my own and the most convenient seems the Swiss FlexiPass or Swiss Pass for what it offers and discounts on the cable cars. And yes, the driver is Swiss, any suggestions?
