Tickets in Switzerland

Hi All,

Im travelling in June with a half fare card and have a few questions:

• If I purchase a boat ticket for Brienz – Interlaken as a point to point ticket can I get off and back on at Giessbach using this ticket?
• I have a half fare card and have already reserved two seats in prestige class on the golden pass express for June .. am I right in thinking I now need to book a ticket on the SBB app for that journey but it must be a first class ticket with the half fare card?
• Does the funicular at Giessbach take card? Or just cash?
• If I buy tickets on the SBB app for buses do I just show these to the driver or do you need to scan them?. For example il be getting the bus from Lucerne to Kriens for the Pilatus silver trip and im assuming the ticket will be a QR code on my phone for this bus journey.

For my June 2024 trip, the funicular at Giessbach finally accepted credit cards. I wish they would allow for on-line purchase to help speed up the process.

For busses, have your tickets, but no need to scan or show anyone unless someone asks. So, just hop on the bus and find a seat.

First two.

Yes, point to point boat, Brienz (see) to Interlaken (see). Stop off at Giessbach included, 17.50 CHF 2nd class with HFC.

Yes, buy a 1st class ticket.

Not that tickets do not need to be purchased far in advance. You will be perfectly fine getting the Interlaken - Montreux ticket at the station when you are here.
