Thun vs Grindelwald

I will be in Switzerland between March, 30 and April, 5. My itinerary is that:

1 - Bern - stay in town.

2 - Bern - go to Luzern and return.

3 - Bern - go to Gruyeres and return. (or go to Thun in the evening)

4 - Thun - go to Lauterbrunnen + Murren + Schilthron and return.

5 - Thun - go to Grindelwald (maybe First) + Wengen and return.

6 - Thun - enjoy Thun in the morning and in the afternoon go to Zermatt

7 - Zermatt - go to Matterhorn

8 - Zermatt - enjoy Zermatt in the morning and in the afternoon go to Zurich.

9 - Zurich - and finish.

So, I've some doubts...

  • Is it better stay in Thun or should I stay in Grindewald, for exemple?

  • Is it too much visit Lauterbrunnen + Murren + Schilthron in the same day?

  • Is it too much visit Grindelwald and Wengen in the same day?

  • If the last two answers was "yes". Which place must I choose?

  • I'm going to Zermatt, then, must I discard some place that I was mentioned?

  • if the weather is bad when I'm in Thun or Grindelwald, I'm thinking of going to Montreux (instead of going to an alpine village). Is it a good idea?

Thank you!!!

Stay in Grindelwald and visit Thun. That is what we did. Also visit Spiletz.
Visit Lauterbrunnen+ Murren+ Wengen in one day. Spend more time in Murren and Wengen.
Don’t leave the Berner Oberland.

I don't think you can go wrong with Grindewald or Thun. Whatever you decide will be fine. And you're not being overly ambitious by hitting up Lauterbrunnen/Murren/Schilthorn in one day. One thing about the Schilthorn - while the views are unbeatable, I noticed the change in elevation after just a little bit, and so did my family - be prepared for a quick exit if you're feeling that way to ward off a migraine and head back down to the villages!

Weather is extremely localized and can change almost minute to minute. For example, you can have visibility in Grindelwald and not in Lauterbrunnen. I stayed in Lauterbrunnen and visited Grindelwald. Grindelwald is busier and I felt less quaint. Montreaux is nice. The chateau definitely worth visiting, but you'd probably want decent weather for that, too. The views on the lake are pretty.
