Has anyone flown out of Geneva airport recently? I found a bunch of really bad reviews, citing really looong passport control lines. Is the airport fairly easy to navigate? Should I get a wheelchair for my husband?
Thanks for any advice!

Switzerland is crowded and, unfortunately, they don’t seem to be doing a good job with the extra capacity.
I don’t have experience with Geneva airport, but I flew out of Zurich this past weekend, and it took me over 2 hours to get from check-in to my gate. The check-in line was over an hour long and passport control only had 3 officers and they seemed to be asking a lot of questions of some people.
If you are flying to the US, I would allow some extra time. It’s so hard to predict how long the lines will be. On one day it could be 10 minutes to get through passport control and the next day it could take an hour. I always allow for the worst-case scenario. That usually means I’m waiting at the airport a long time, but I prefer that to being stressed because lines are long.
Good luck!!!
All major airports have a bunch of really bad reviews and are busier than ever. Don't travel in summer if you can help it. There is this post pandemic worker shortage in service industries. I flew into Geneva in May and didn't notice anything. I flew out of Zurich the flight was delayed on the runway about an hour other than that Zurich Airport has won all kinds of service industry awards over the years.
I should mention too that if your husband has issues with stagnant standing, don’t hesitate to request wheelchair service. I’ve done this for my sister who has medical issues. Just note though that the wheelchair is after check-in, at least in my experience. So, that wouldn’t help if you need to wait in a long check-in line.
And sometimes wheelchair service is good and sometimes not so good. One time at Zurich airport, my sister and her husband were kept waiting in a room and did not arrive to the gate until after boarding had already started. So, if there's a lot of people needing a wheelchair at the same time, you may be waiting awhile.
Flew home from Geneva in a morning flight and had no issues. Dad uses handicapped assistance all the time. I would get it.
My experience is exclusively on Saturdays during ski season, and it is indeed a madhouse on those days. All the many ski resorts in France and western Switzerland book Saturday to Saturday, and that is where the UK skis.
Thanks for all of your replies. I will look into wheelchair assistance, and hope that there aren’t others making the same request!
