Having Googled this question I get two quite different average high/low results:
57/48 F and 77/58 F
Which one of these would be closer to "most likely"?
Thanks!

mbuccowich,
We were in beautiful Murren less than 2 weeks ago :) There is a heat wave going on throughout Europe and Murren will be no exception. The good news is that the mountains still had snow atop of them making for a natural air conditioning. Light layers that you can shed as the day goes on. More than any other location throughout our Alps journey, Switzerland was lovely in the evening and early mornings with the windows opened. Whilst you're away from your room in the heat of the day and you know the temps will be high, close your windows and draw the curtains to keep the cool from the night inside and the heat of the upcoming day OUT. Then, when you return in the evening, open up those windows and request a fan for your room. They only have so many to give out at the hotels so I would do this discretely so those without won't be too terribly disappointed.
I would always strip away the cover of the heavy duvet (that seems to be at every, single, solitary hotel in Europe) fold that beast away and use only the sheet-like cover for my bed when it was so warm.
Making the most of the coolness of early morning and later evening (it gets dark much later in Europe than in the eastern part of the US!) for touring and less exertion in the mid day heat is never a bad idea.
You only asked for temps but just hoping my tips my be helpful.
Have fun!

Best to look at the weather forecast the week before you go. You will get a much better idea of what to expect. Bazsed upon my limited experience I would expect a bit lower than the 2nd choice. We were in Murren last July/August, temps were close to your 2nd choice.
Having stayed in Murren on three separate occasions over the years (June, July and late August) I found the temperatures to require only a light jacket for me. During my first trip a light jacket was all I wore. On subsequent trips I packed layers in order to be prepared for the unexpected varying range of temperatures.
Look at Meteoswiss for the weather. Here is the link, you can see that in the next seven days the low/high is predicted to be 51.8/77.
I would download the app and check it daily, especially if you are planning on hiking. Today you can see that there has been a level 3 thunderstorm warning from 11:00 - 21:00

We spend our summers living in Mürren. On a hot sunny day, it will “feel” like it’s 90 because of the high altitude sun. On a rainy/foggy evening it can “feel” like it’s in the 40s. You can experience both of these extremes in July, which is why it’s so important to pack layers.
Thanks to all - very helpful and much appreciated comments!
The advantage of the mountains is that even on hot days it cools down significantly the moment the sun goes down. Take that in to account when you go out in the evening...
And so during the day you just keep the windows closed, so the room does not heat up, and at night you throw everything open.
We sleep under the same duvet summer and winter btw, and always keep our bedroom cool.
