Tech Issue - Golden Pass Express Prestige Seat Reservations

I am in the US and attempting to reserve 2 Prestige Seats on the Golden Pass Express from Montreux to Interlaken on Friday, Sept 13th 2024 on the 12:34 pm train. I currently possess a Half Fare Card.

The problem appears to be that when I choose the button to 'Reserve Prestige Seats' (logged in on the gpx.swiss website) and enter the travel information and choose my seats...the 'Reduction' field on the confirmation screen does not give me the option to 'Reserve Seats Only' or even to choose 'Half Fare Card' if I wanted to buy the tickets as well.

When I click on the 'Reduction' box it pulls up the 'Seat Service' menu listing food choices instead of the Reduction card options or Seat Reservation Only option. On this seat service menu the only option I can select that makes any sense is 'Prestige Individual'.

Because I can't make the appropriate reservation/reduction choice at this point it goes on to charge me full fair (96 CHF ea) for 2 tickets plus the 2 seat reservation charges (49 CHF each).

This only seems to be a problem with the prestige seat reservations. You can pull up the appropriate Reduction menu with 1st/2nd class seat reservations. I would just choose 1st class but there aren't the seats together that we want and can reserve.

I have tried rebooting my computer, using my phone, waiting a day, and having my husband use his computer and we get the same thing.

Has anyone on this forum seen this tech glitch in the system or am I doing something wrong? I appreciate any help you can provide.

We booked ours for early October with no problem and I just had another look.

What I did was on the first screen after selecting Prestige seats, there is a box asking if you already have your own ticket. I ticked 'Yes' and then it took me to a screen where I chose how many Prestige reservations I wanted and only charged for the Prestige reservation.

I didn't actually have my ticket at the time I booked, but I do now as I have purchased a First Class Saver Day Pass which was the most economical option.

You will also be asked about booking food for the train. I did contact them and the suggested that I should pre-purchase as it often isn't available on the day. I just booked a couple of meat and cheese platters and a glass of wine.

Hi Deb - Thank you for taking the time to respond. I am actually doing exactly what you stated above.

On the Golden Pass Express sight I click on Reserve Prestige Seat (or just Reserve Seat Now) --> Click Yes that I have a ticket --> enter my Montreux -> Interlaken Ost and date --> it goes to Reserve Seat --> I add a passenger (for a total of 2) and pick my train time and seats. It's the next screen where I enter passenger info and there is a Reduction box which should be where you enter your reduction card or request Reservation Only. THIS is where the Seat Service Menu is coming up for me. EVERY TIME. I know the last screen before checkout has the Seat Service option to select food if you want. I just seem to be getting it on the Passenger Info and Reduction box section also. It's maddening at this point. Not sure what I can do differently.

So you say you went though those steps again and got the right Reduction Box query? Maybe it is just on my end?

Letting everyone know that I just heard back from MOB following my query with [email protected]. They tried after my request and found that there IS a bug with the system in reserving prestige seats and that they will alert IT to resolve the issue. They said they will let me know when it is fixed.

I tried to replicate what you reported. Yes, definitely a bug, which thanks to the OP, will get corrected.
