It's a stair climber slog through the woods to get to the last 20% which has views.

I'm not saying it's a bad hike, it's just a lot of cardio in the woods to get to the beauty at the back. If you have the time & physical fitness, it's a lovely hike! You can start in Gimmelwald and return via Stechelberg.

I've done that, but we started in Stechelberg. It is a nice walk, but the part after Tanzbodeli down to Obersteinberg does require you to have a good head for heights. My wife, who is Swiss, had trouble there. Me, who grew up at sea level, not. :-)

There are a lot of good hikes in the area. My favorite s the waterfall tour, which you can combine with a visit to Obersteinberg or Tschingelhorn. We staid overnight at Tschingelhorn once. It was magical.

My favorit walk however is the walk from Stechelberg to the Smadrigbach fall. That is actually the biggest waterfall in the Lauterbrunnen valley, but few tourists go there, as it is a 5 hour hike...
