Switzerland Trip in June for 4.5 days - Need help!!

Hi Everyone, Planning a Swiss trip for two adults and an 11-year-old child. We are flying into Zurich on June 28th at noon and departing Zurich on July 2nd around noon — giving us approximately 4.5 days. Can you help us with what can we cover in that time and must see's. I know it is short and want to get a feel of Swiss best we can. Regarding hotel stays, do you recommend staying in one and going around or moving to different hotels? I have started researching and it is overwhelming as there is so much info out there. Thanks in advance!

With only 4 nights, I'd spend them all in Luzern and take day trips to Mt Rigi, Berner Oberland, and Engelberg.

Agree with Sam. Luzern is only 1+ hours by train from the Zurich airport.

That's 3 for 3. Lucerne seems like a good choice. Mt. Rigi, Mt. Stanserhorne, Mt. Pilatus, and maybe a longer day just taking the boat all around Lac Lucerne. Can even have a nice meal on the boat. Or for one day, take a train to Brienz, Interlaken, Bern, and back to Lucerne. Brienz has the Rothorne Bahn, which would be fun for an 11 year-old.

Definitely pick one area and just enjoy it with such a short trip. You do have time to go further away than Luzern if you want to be more IN the mountains but Luzern has a good mix of city, lake & mountain options, so it does make a good base for day trips.
