Switzerland - Swizz Flexi-pass

My husband and I will be traveling to Switzerland in Sept. We will be staying in Switzerland for 5 days. I have researched the various rail passes for 2-4 countries as we will be traveling also in So. France and Italy. I have discerned that we do not need the rail pass but it would be feasible to purchase the Swiss Saver Flexible Pass for 5 days. Before I purchase this I need confirmation that this would be feasible for us as we will be staying in one place in Switzerland (central) and traveling to nearby cities by train.
I would like comments regarding this.

You can get anywhere in Switzerland within a day, but I assume you won't be crossing the whole country on a same-day roundtrip. Most routes have service at least hourly and connections to anywhere are very smooth. How to Look Up Train Schedules Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it, or SBB.ch works similarly.

The Swiss Pass for 5 travel days within a month at $377 per person works if you expect to take fairly long trips and want full coverage every day of trains, buses, lake boats, museums, and city trams. The highest mountain lifts are mostly discounted 50%, no matter which day of your pass it is. Or, a smaller pass like 3 travel days in a month for $269 per person gives you 3 days of full coverage, plus 50% discounts for transportation (not museums) on the in-between days. See more info on that page link about what passes cover in Switzerland.

Thank you for your response. You have confirmed my decision to purchase the Swiss Saver Pass for 3 or for 5 days. Thank you for your assistance.
