Still planning and dreaming......need some good advice from prior travelers on side trips from Lauterbrunnen to areas close by. Hoping in the future to go hiking near Lauterbrunnen and take a few trips on off-hiking days.....have been to Luzern, Mt. Pilatus, Geneva, Zurich.....what about Bern?......and a day trip to Montreux? We hope to buy a train pass and take advantage of that means of transportation while based in Lauterbrunnen....thank you!

I accomplished Bern and Zermatt taking the train on the same day from Murren last May 2019 using the 3 day Swiss Travel Pass.
The Swiss Travel Pass covered the entrance fee to the Paul Klee museum and many other museums if you are interested in that.

Visit Kandersteg in the next valley over and hike up to Lake Oeschinensse. Bern is nice and Montreux has a beautiful lakefront promenade. Gruyeres is also a fun place to visit.
