Switzerland Itinerary/Swiss Rail Pass

Hello. I am showing our basic itinerary in early October 2025 for 7 days. Hotels all booked.

I am wondering if it is the best thing to purchase a swiss rail pass. And I am wondering if anyone has any further suggestions to our itinerary. It's myself and my 25 year old daughter. Thank you.

DAY 1 Arrive very early to Geneva from NYC
DAY 2, Travel to Zermatt - sightsee, glacier paradise cable car, hike to corner gorge or five lakes trail
DAY 4 Scenic train via Visp to Lucerne for 3 days
Mount Pilatus, Golden Round Trip
Mount Rigi
Eiger Express to Jungfraujock Top of Europe or hike First Cliff Walk or cable car to Mt First
Sunset Boat ride
DAY 5 Day Trip to Bern
Einstein Museum or Rose Garden, Walking around
DAY 6 Day trip to Grindelwald
DAY 7 travel to Zurich
Boat ride one Lake Zurich of explore Uetliberg
DAY 8 Airport to NYC

When is this? The time of year is important for planning.
Too many day trips to the BO. Perhaps one night in Lucerne, altho Lucerne needs more time, then sleep in the BO for as many nights as possible.
Bern is nice, but I'd skip, and max out sleeping actually IN the Alps.
Upon reflection, I would skip Zermatt, as you are gambling that you'll have good weather for your one day.
I think you'd have a fantastic trip if you sleep in Lucerne (2 nites) and Wengen/Murren for the balance.

Most folks do fine with the half- fare card and a BO Pass, but I like the convenience of the STP.
