From Interlaken area, the best way to Zermatt is train to Spiez, then to Visp, then to Zermatt. If you want a more scenic route, from Spiez take the "Loetschberger" train to Brig, then get the train to Zermatt from there.

It is eligible to Zermatt. You will get a 50% discount to travel above Zermatt on the Gornergratbahn or the trams up to the glacier.

In Luzern, you also have Mt Rigi. It will cost extra to go up to Titlis from Engelberg.

Totally different animals. Zermatt is nestled high in the mountains beneath the Matterhorn. Montreux is a lakeside resort town town. I only go to Zermatt in the winter for skiing, but summer hiking is popular as well, and you can ski year-round on the glacier.

Hi I would take one day away from Lucerne and add it to Wengen. That area easily needs 3 days. you are doing a lot of moving around. We based ourselves in lauterbrunnen ( in the valley between Wengen and Murren ) for 4 days and did a lovely day trip (long) to Monteraux from there by train. It would also make your return to Zurich easier.
