Switzerland in December

I'm going to Switzerland in Dec. Starting in Zurich on Dec 27 and ending in Milan on Jan 3. Any suggestions on towns to visit between the two cities?

Start doing some research on New Years Eve Celebrations. That would be a major focus for me, as it's a big deal in the EU.
