Switzerland in 6 days and 7 nights

Hi dear travel enthusiasts,

Need help in planning our very first Switzerland trip. I would like to cover Lauterbrunnen, Interlaken, Lake Brienz, Sergi Swil Bridge, do some hikes. Would love to hear if staying in Zurich and covering the above places is easier or stay in Lauterbrunnen and cover the above places. And is it better and affordable to commute by train or hire a car? Thanks in advance

P.S: Plan of visit is end of March to 1st week of April

Stay in Lauterbrunnen and you’ll have quick access to Murren, the scenic lakeside towns of Thun, Brienz and Spiez. the Sigriswil Bridge— along with hiking trails in the Berner Oberland. Trains, gondolas and cable cars are the way to travel in the region. You might check out the Berner Oberland Pass from SBB.

Definitely don't stay in Zurich, but do know that end of March/beginning of April in the mountains is still the end of winter season, so it's going to be chilly and a mix of snow/rain. You could stay in Lauterbrunnen, or you may want to consider staying on one of the lakes so that in the event of bad weather, you're closer to possible day trips that don't rely on good mountain weather. I'd look into staying somewhere on Lake Brienz or Lake Thun - perhaps Brienz, Spiez, Thun or even Interlaken and then you can make quick day trips into the mountains when the weather allows but when not, you're still in a lovely nature spot (Zurich isn't close to the mountains at all).
