Switzerland Electrical Adapters

Rick Steves sells European Electrical Adapters, but NOT ones that will work in Switzerland (other than that LARGE Universal Box thing) - we want just Switzerland adapters - do most of you get them on Amazon (some of the reviews are sketchy). Thanks!!

The round two-prong plugs work for me. I only ever need to charge small things like my phone, toothbrush, razor, etc.

If your electrial device is multi-voltage rated and ungrounded (only two conductors) your Type C two round pins adaptor (RS Euro) will work in Switzerland. If you device has a ground pin (three conductors), you will need a Type J adaptor.

Used in: Switzerland and Lichtenstein

The Type J plug has two round pins as well as a grounding pin.
Although the Type J plug looks a lot like the Brazilian Type N plug it
is incompatible with the Type N socket as the earth pin is further
away from the centre line than on Type N. However, Type C plugs are
perfectly compatible with Type J sockets.

Type J plugs are rated 10 amps.

I bought mine on Amazon, no problem. They are just small pieces of plastic that all come out of the same factories in China, no reason reviews should be sketchy. If you're concerned, once you get there just look around at the airport or train stations and you'll find places that sell them.

You should consider whether you want surge protectors as well, and perhaps a small outlet strip that combines outlets and USB ports. It's amazing how much stuff needs daily charging nowadays, it used to be you just bought bundles of AA batteries and had at it.

You should consider whether you want surge protectors....

Check the input voltage rating of your srge protector. My Belkin is rated at 125 vac 60 Hz. Swiss electricity s 230 vac 50 Hz.
