Switzerland: Basel to Gimmelwald and the Swiss Travel Pass

We are traveling through Switzerland for five days after disembarking from a Rhine River cruise that ends in Basel. I have a couple of questions: 1) We are traveling from Basel to Gimmelwald by train on May 28, and spending three nights in Gimmelwald. Would you recommend stopping in Bern to explore on the way or going direct, and spending as much time as possible in the Berner Oberland areas? 2) Should we just get the Swiss Travel Pass for six days or try to use the Berner Oberland pass for three days? We will be traveling to Lucern 5/31 and then flying out through Zurich on 6/2, so we will be using trains frequently. 3) Any suggestions on restaurants in Berner Oberland or Lucerne would also be helpful. Thanks

It really depends on what you want to do while in Gimmelwald and Luzern.
In Gimmelwald, if you want to go to the Schilthorn summit and back, It will cost you an additional 45.70 CHF with the Swiss Travel Pass.
