Switzerland

Looking for suggestions on accommodations in major areas of Switzerland that won’t break the bank. Not Hostels.

We’re going to need some basic details: city/town, number of people, nightly budget in euros. Everybody’s “bank” size is different. Switzerland is the most expensive country in Europe, so “cheap” really isn’t applicable there.

We are two adults.
Is €200 a night feasible?
Cities visited:Lucerne, Interlaken, Bern, Geneva, Zermatt, Lugano and St. Moritz.
Hope that helps.
Thank you

Of course, you know that Switzerland does not use Euros, instead using swiss francs.
Yes, €200/night is doable.
What month/time of year? That can make a difference.

This is a perfect time to use www.booking.com to sort through possibilities. You can not only specify the city or town, but budget, amenities important to you, and see location.

Once you find some properties that appeal, you might want to ask here about specific experiences, but no one can really do this sort for you. You can always book directly with the hotel if you prefer but Booking.com is an awfully nice tool for initial research,

200 Euros in the major Swiss cities is on the low end. Not that you cannot find a room for less, but it is not easy. The Booking.com suggestion is a good one.

You can find reasonably priced Airbnb stays if you are willing to stay in smaller towns and then use the public transportation system (best if you have a Swiss Travel Pass) to travel on various day trips. Yes, it takes a little time to travel from a small town (e.g. Sierre/Seders to Sion) but it's cheaper and you just might meet some locals in the process.
